A Summer Tradition for Dog Lovers, Families, and the Entire Community
Mark your calendars—Puppy Plunge 2026 is making waves once again!
Join the SPCA of Anne Arundel County on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Camp Letts in Edgewater for one of Anne Arundel County’s favorite summer traditions. Whether you’re bringing your four-legged best friend or simply looking for a fun afternoon with family and friends, Puppy Plunge is the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday while supporting homeless animals in our community.
As a private, nonprofit organization celebrating 106 years of serving Anne Arundel County, the SPCA relies on community events like Puppy Plunge to help provide shelter, medical care, enrichment, and second chances for thousands of animals each year. Since 2014, we’ve proudly maintained a 98% lifesaving rate, one of the highest in the nation.
What’s Happening at Puppy Plunge?
There’s something for everyone—two-legged and four-legged alike!
🐾 Beach Access for Dogs
Watch pups splash, swim, and play along the beautiful waterfront at Camp Letts.
- Little Dog Beach – A designated swimming area for our smaller canine friends.
- Muscle Beach – Plenty of room for larger dogs to run, play, and cool off.
🥧 Pup Pie Eating Contest
Think your pup has what it takes to be crowned champion?
Our annual Pup Pie Eating Contest, sponsored by Puppylicious Gourmet, is always a crowd favorite.
- $5 per dog entry
- Register at the Merchandise Tent
- First come, first served
- Limited to 15 dogs
Whether you’re entering or cheering from the sidelines, it’s guaranteed to bring plenty of laughs (and messy faces!).
👙 Beachwear Photo Contest
Is your pup ready to make a splash in style?
Dress your dog in their favorite beach attire and stop by our photo station to enter our annual beachwear-themed photo contest.
Even better—the official contest name is being chosen by YOU! Follow us on social media and cast your vote to help crown this year’s winning contest name.

Come hungry!
Enjoy delicious food from local food trucks, refreshing drinks, and tropical cocktails while relaxing by the water.

$15 per vehicle
Every admission helps support the lifesaving work of the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, providing food, shelter, medical care, enrichment, and loving second chances for animals waiting to find their forever homes.
