Guardian Angel Program

By sponsoring an animal at our shelter, you are making a positive impact on the many homeless animals we have in our care. Your generous contribution will go towards shelter, bedding, food, veterinary care costs, toys, and treats for that specific animal. Additionally, you will receive the satisfaction of knowing that specific animal will live a good life because of your kind sponsorship.

All of our animals are available for sponsorship through our Guardian Angel Program.  By participating in the Guardian Angel Program, you will help provide the necessary shelter and humane care for a homeless animal in our community. We’re devoted to helping these animals become healthy and happy and to find them new, loving homes.

For a minimum donation of $50, you can sponsor an animal for yourself or as a gift in honor or memory of a friend or loved one.  Simply:

  • Choose an adoptable animal (cat, dog, kitten, puppy, or other) or let us choose for you!
  • Provide us with your name and the gift recipient’s name and address (if applicable)
  • Select a dollar amount you would like to donate (minimum $50)

Gift sponsorships can be purchased by mail, phone, or in person at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County.  For more information, please contact us at info@aacspca.org

With each sponsorship, the recipient will receive a personalized SPCA of Anne Arundel County Guardian Angel Certificate with a picture of the sponsored animal.

Dear Friends of the SPCA of Anne Arundel County,

As you’ve read in the press or seen on the news, the number of cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

in the United States has drastically increased over the last few days. Without any signs of slowing — and with

the speed that the virus is spreading — we have modified our existing shelter visitation policies.

Our focus remains on the health and safety of our employees and volunteers who are vital to the care of all our

four-legged guests.

-Until at least Monday, March 30 to comply with the current executive order of the Governor's Office, our shelter is closed to the public. Select services have moved to appointment ONLY. There will be no exceptions made.

-This includes animal surrenders, new donation drop off, Spay and Neuter Clinic appointments, foster animal appointments or any other business. Animal  viewings and adoptions are not being offered at this time.

-We are only accepting donations of new supplies. Again, donation drop offs are by appointment only.

-This policy will allow us to honor the practice of "social distancing," keeping of at least 6' away from one another to help contain the spread of the virus.

We also urge all potential visitors to  consider postponing scheduling appointments at our shelter

if you are showing any symptoms of the virus. We will continue to closely monitor the outbreak of

COVID-19 and return to our existing policies as soon as we feel confident in our safety.

Don't worry, our staff will still be on hand  to take care of the shelter animals and give them lots of love & care.

Please be advised we will be closed to the public on May 10th, 2018 - because we're getting a facelift!

The Keller Williams Flagship of Maryland (Millersville, MD) and its associates will be revitalizing the SPCA of Anne Arundel County’s Adoption Site for their annual RED Day Project! Please consider volunteering man hours on the event day or expressing your thanks on their Facebook page!
