Our dear Zelda has had a rough start in life. This poor girl spent her first seven months being passed around from one owner to another without ever having a place to really call home. Her most recent home, before coming to us, kept her locked in the basement, alone and isolated all the time. At 8 months old, this Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, found her way to us. She arrived bold and beautiful and so very big! It was clear that she hadn’t had any training either. Poor Zelda never had any real guidance or structure in her short life. We could see that she had real potential to be an amazing companion for someone. So we have been working tirelessly to get her on the right track to be a great dog, now the next step is getting her into the right home.
All she wants for Christmas is you!
Zelda is currently in an off-site board and train program where she has been thriving. She started out with some guarding issues, but has really improved with training. She really is one smart cookie! Zelda will need a confident owner who will continue her training and help her become confident herself. She is still very much a puppy, which means she’ll show you some normal puppy behaviors from being super playful and silly, to counter surfing for food if you let her. She really wants someone to love her and show her what behavior is appropriate and what is not.
Zelda needs someone who will allow her to be a puppy while still teaching her rules and manners; helping her grow into a successful, happy dog. Due to her size, we recommend that Zelda goes to an adult-only home. She is a bouncy, young, fun-loving girl who continues to grow into an amazing, smart dog. If you think there’s no place like your home for the holidays, contact us about bringing Zelda into your pack. We love her and know you will too!
