Update – ADOPTED! Shadow is Seeking Serenity

“I’m not on Instagram, but I’ll follow you anywhere!”

Few dogs are as loyal and loving as Shadow. She’ll gladly follow her people to the ends of the Earth and beyond. And if you want to talk about sweet, we could go on and on. It’s hard to snap a photo of Shadow because she doesn’t want to stop giving kisses long enough to sit still.

Shadow is at our shelter now but is in desperate need of a foster family. The shelter environment can be stressful for some dogs and is especially hard on Shadow. She has moments of anxiety-ridden panic attacks and really needs a home environment to relax in while she waits for her forever family. Her previous foster family really enjoyed having her, they tell us she was a very polite guest. She’ll hang with you while you watch tv, listen to you talk about your day and spend time just being with you. Have other dogs? Shadow loves playmates! She does well with kids but due to some sensitivity in her back legs, her ideal home would be with older children who understand the need to be aware of her sensitivity.

While we want to find Shadow a permanent place to call her own, we are also hoping to find her a foster home as soon as possible. Can she crash on your couch for a while?

If you can foster Shadow, reach out to us at 410-268-4388!

Hello, I have few questions regarding Shadow. Does she do well with cats? Can she do stairs? She looks like a pit bull mix? Thank you.

Hi there! At this time we are unsure of how Shadow feels about cats. Before sending her home with an adopter/foster with cats, we would cat test her. Stairs are not a problem for her, her legs work just fine. She is just sensitive about them being touched. She is a pit mix.

Thank you for your response. When I read Shadow is Seeking Serenity description, I thought Shadow was a really laid-back dog. But, when I read the Shadow's description under the Adoptable Dog tab, she sounds like she would be too active for us. I hope that everything works out for her. Maybe Sunday will be her lucky day! We will keep watching your website for another dog.

I would really like to come see her on Sunday! We do have another Pit bull that we just adopted about 2 months ago and is struggling with some anxiety, but feels much better when she has another dog to keep her company. How is her demeanor with other dogs? My dog is about 4 years old, female. Thanks!
